Spring is officially here and that means so is the start of wedding season… So for all my fellow brides-to-be (or even just babes who like to wear white, let’s be real) – I wanted to share some of my hot tips for being engagement-photo-ready.
While one doesn’t have to wear white (in fact, in this day and age, you don’t really have to wear white to any of your wedding events… even your big day!), I LOVE the color white (strange I know, I’m supposed to like black best – doesn’t everyone?) and decided to wear this Reformation Lottie dress in Ivory.
Not only is it on trend with a feminine feel and romantic ruffles, it was the perfect dress to get photographed in. You want to be sure you are choosing something that will be flattering on you (your body type, your personality, etc.). It’s also generally a good idea to grab something that accentuates your good features (for me it’s the waist and bust), while also choosing something with movement so that you get good shots.
I also enjoyed pairing this piece with a vibrant pump because it really pops in photos (and yes, I chose the Carrie pump, the Manolo Blahnik Hangisi classic in blue satin… how cliche of me).
Last I chose to bring a playful accessory that worked for fun photo-ops and was both relevant-to-the-mood and also just REAL cute (another excuse to buy something, I know, but it was the perfect clutch for our post-photo champagne pitstop!).
If you’re another soon-to-be-bride, CONGRATS! And even if you’re not, this post will help you look oh-so-fly for all the photo cameos you’ll be making in your weddings this summer… just be sure not to steal the part from the leading lady… 😉
